On May 20, 2025, UMPT hosted a spiritual and educational talk on the topic "Enlightenment against Ignorance." The event was attended by Associate Professor of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan Sh. Akmalov, Acting Director General of UMPT S. Gulyamov, head of the compliance service D. Saidmuradov, Adviser to the Director General on spiritual and educational work and compliance with legislation on the state language U. Jabbarov, as well as employees of all departments and departments of the company.
In his speech, S. Akmalov noted that religion, by its very nature, calls for peace and goodness, and it should not be allowed to be used for unscrupulous purposes. He stressed the importance of increasing the religious, secular, moral and scientific potential of our youth, as well as the need to prevent any form of religious fanaticism, foster loyalty to the Motherland and the desire for peace as the foundations of the country's future.
The fight against ignorance is an integral part of the progress of mankind, its spiritual and scientific development. Ignorance is a set of views, beliefs, and actions that contradict knowledge, thinking, and truth. It is a breeding ground for violence, injustice, racism, extremism and other social ills.
During the round table, the participants exchanged views on ways to combat ignorance, create a healthy society based on religion, traditions and values, the need to promote reason, science, patience and justice, as well as the use of theater, cinema and literature to demonstrate the consequences of ignorance. It was also emphasized how important it is to develop charity, mutual understanding and tolerance in society.
In conclusion, plans for the future were discussed and the need for responsible and high-quality fulfillment of each task was emphasized.
The statement of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev from the annual address to the Oliy Majlis and the people was also cited:
"Radicalism, extremism, terrorism, human trafficking, drug addiction — these threats, alas, do not bypass us.
But, I repeat once again, can there be a place for the lost who succumbed to the ideas of radicalism and extremism in the land where such great scientists as Imam Bukhari, Imam Termiziy, and Imam Maturidy were born?
We will not allow radicalization in our society, we will not allow poisoning the consciousness of young people with alien destructive ideas, using religion for political purposes and replacing education with ignorance."
Indeed, every citizen of Uzbekistan, regardless of profession and status, must be even more vigilant and aware today. This is a requirement of time.
