General Motors Delegation visits UMPT

On May 22, 2025, the UzAuto Motors Powertrain (UMPT) plant received a delegation of high-ranking representatives of General Motors who arrived to participate in a compliance seminar and discuss prospects for cooperation with the company's management.


The event began with a compliance seminar organized by Uzavtosanoat JSC on the territory of UMPT. The main focus was on compliance with ethical standards, transparency and legal responsibility in the corporate environment.
Tommy Hosea, Vice President of General Motors International, delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the importance of commitment to compliance principles as the foundation of a sustainable and responsible business.


The delegation also included Dongchang Kim, CEO of GM-UZ, Director of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at General Motors, and Louise Villamizar, Chief Lawyer for the Middle East and Oceania, Europe and Africa, General Motors. At the end of the seminar, representatives of General Motors held a working meeting with UMPT management. During the negotiations, Mr. Tommy Hosea expressed gratitude for the support in exporting cylinder blocks manufactured at UMPT to GM production sites in Mexico.
The parties also discussed current projects, as well as the prospects for localization and implementation of new technological solutions aimed at increasing the efficiency and innovation of production. An agreement was reached to continue working together on current and future mutually beneficial initiatives.
