From September 10 to October 10, 2025, the “Clean Air” Month took place in Tashkent. The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to implement the requirements of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Protection of Atmospheric Air” and “On Environmental Control.”
At the UMPT plant, measurements of exhaust gas emissions from vehicles and stationary sources were also carried out. Specialists from an accredited laboratory inspected the company’s cars, buses, and forklifts.
As part of landscaping and greening activities, a tree-planting campaign was organized, during which 120 decorative tree saplings were planted. The planted trees, by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen through photosynthesis, help improve air quality. In addition, they capture dust, smoke, and other harmful particles on their leaves and branches, naturally purifying the atmosphere.
UMPT employees actively support the environmental initiative “Car-Free Day,” which is held every fourth Wednesday of the month. Over the course of nine months, about 70% of employees took part in this initiative, preferring corporate and public transport, as well as bicycles. This initiative helps reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere and promotes a healthy lifestyle.
